“This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.”
The above quote is representative of every interaction you’ll ever have with Comcast. It’s also a quote from 300. But more the first thing, definitely.
Thankfully, a company called Trim has created a chat bot to handle this infuriating task for you. It’s a Chrome extension that not only talks to customer service on your behalf, but also lets you play Tetris, Brick Breaker, or Snake while the bot works its magic.
I despise my yearly interactions with Comcast, so the prospect of having artificial intelligence step in seems awfully attractive. If the bot is someday able to start a chat without human intervention, I’d even consider paying for it.
If this sounds at all interesting to you, I suggest you try it as soon as possible. Trim’s CEO doesn’t sound optimistic that Comcast will tolerate the bot over the long term.
“Basically we want to see how many people we can help before Comcast shuts us down,” Trim CEO Thomas Smyth told VentureBeat in an interview.
If you use the bot, let me know how it goes!
