Where Pulse Rifles are concerned, it’s tough to beat Redrix’s Broadsword in Destiny 2. Because the gun comes fixed with both the Outlaw and Desperado perks, you can string together precision kills to unlock faster reloads and faster rates of fire simultaneously. It should come as no surprise that this deadly combo is highly sought after, which means a lot of people want to know how to get Redrix’s Broadsword in Destiny 2. If you’re one of those Guardians, keep reading. We’re about to spill the beans.

How to get Redrix's Broadsword in Destiny 2

Redrix’s Broadsword was originally a Quest weapon for the Crucible

To know the full story of Redrix’s Broadsword, we need to start at the beginning. Once upon a time a few years back, there was a Pulse Rifle called Redrix’s Claymore that shared many characteristics with the Broadsword.

Redrix’s Claymore wasn’t a very easy weapon to get. Obtaining it involved reaching the “Fabled” rank in competitive Crucible, which at the time was much more difficult than it is today. Bungie saw that few players were able to get their hands on the Claymore, and decided to spin off an alternative version of the weapon that was a bit more accessible.

Thus, Redrix’s Broadsword was born.

Getting the Broadsword involved going through a Quest that, while still time consuming, was a bit easier than a slow, sometimes infuriating crawl up the competitive Crucible ranks. However, some hardcore players — mainly those who’d grinded for the Claymore — were not very happy about the introduction of the Broadsword.

All that mattered not just a few years later when Bungie introduced the concept of “Sunsetting” to Destiny 2. Older weapons could no longer be infused up to the current Power Level, and the Quest for Redrix’s Broadsword was eventually removed from the game.

Redrix’s Broadsword can now be purchased in the Tower

Monument to Lost Lights

There is still an answer for how to get Redrix’s Broadsword in Destiny 2, though, and that’s because of the Monument to Lost Lights. This kiosk — located near the Vault terminals in the Tower — sells Legacy and past-season content to Guardians who have the right currencies and resources on tap.

You’ll find Redrix’s Broadsword in the Monument. Though, as mentioned, you’ll need some materials in your inventory in order to buy it. Those are:

Once you have all of that, open the Monument to Lost Lights and open the section called “Legacy Gear.” There, in the top row, you should see Redrix’s Broadsword sitting in the third slot. Go ahead and make your purchase, and just like that, you will have unlocked the weapon for use in future activities.

And that’s how to get Redrix’s Broadsword in Destiny 2

Even though the Broadsword isn’t all that viable for Power Level-enabled activities, it can still clean house in Quickplay Crucible, and can even come in handy in PvE playlists such as Strikes. For that reason, it’s still worth picking up.

My advice to you is to get it, then take it into Control for a few rounds to get a feel for how Outlaw and Desperado work when proc’d together. Then go forward to try and find a newer, infusible Pulse (perhaps Messenger) that can roll with those perks and offer a similar experience.
