In Destiny 2, there may be a few instances in which you need certain types of Planetary Materials. When you’re upgrading weapons or armor, you likely need them. When you’re purchasing something from the Monument to Lost Lights, you definitely need them. Here’s your guide for how to get Spinmetal Leaves in Destiny 2, so you at least know where to find this particular material should you require it.

The Spider will sell you Spinmetal Leaves

The Spider in the Tangled Shore is quite good at getting his hands on things, and could be willing to part with some Spinmetal Leaves if you catch him on the right day — and if you have the type of currency he wants. Some days the Spider will sell you Spinmetal for Glimmer. Other days, he’ll prefer a trade for your Legendary Shards instead.

Regardless, buying Spinmetal Leaves from the Spider is the most efficient way to get them in large numbers. If you have the riches available to give away, this is definitely the preferred route.

Open your Destination Resource Bundles in the Season Pass

Select tiers of the Destiny 2 season pass will give you what’s called a Destination Resource Bundle. When you open it, you’ll be given 50 of each kind of Planetary Material in the game, including Spinmetal Leaves. That amount should be enough to get you by and help you perform the action you needed them for. If you find you’re too far away from a Destination Resource Bundle, however, and you don’t have much in the way of Glimmer or Legendary Shards to trade with Spider, you do have another option.

You can farm for Spinmetal Leaves manually

Back in the original Destiny days, there was no Spider to visit when you needed Spinmetal Leaves. You had to collect that stuff yourself! Uphill both ways. Alas, that option for how to get Spinmetal Leaves in Destiny 2 still remains if you’re especially desperate. Though if you don’t have any Glimmer and you also don’t have any Legendary Shards to spare, you are in some pretty dire straits.

Resource piles like the one above in the Cosmodrome will give you Spinmetal Leaves, as will Cosmodrome chests you open. If you mod your Ghost to use a resource detector for the Cosmodrome, you should have a much easier time finding both — though it’s worth noting that farming goes very slow. You won’t get a lot of materials for the time you spend doing it.

And that’s how to get Spinmetal Leaves in Destiny 2

Well, there you have it. Now that you know where to get the Spinmetal Leaves you need, you’re ready to go out there and scoop them up. After that, you should be all set for the upgrades you were hoping to make, or for that weapon you were hoping to buy.
