If you want a beastly Submachine Gun in Destiny 2, it’s safe to say you have quite a number of them to choose from. There are even a few Exotics in that category, each with their own unique perks and capabilities. But none seem to draw as much interest from players as Tarrabah. If you’re one of those players who really wants this weapon, and you’ll go to the ends of the Earth (or the game, at least) to get it, below we’ll walk you through how to get Tarrabah in Destiny 2 now, as the process changed quite a bit once the Beyond Light expansion dropped.

How to get Tarrabah in Destiny 2

Tarrabah used to be a Raid weapon

It wasn’t all that long ago that Tarrabah was only available in one place: as a drop for completing the final encounter in the “Crown of Sorrows” Raid. You had to defeat Gahlran at the tail end of that Raid, and you also had to defeat RNG in order to find the luck necessary to get the weapon to land in your inventory. Needless to say, a bunch of players never hit the jackpot.

While it’s a bummer that the Destiny Content Vault has taken the Crown of Sorrows Raid away from everyone, thus robbing them of their chance to finally get that drop (and to celebrate it), the process for getting Tarrabah now is certainly more straightforward. I wouldn’t call it easy: you do have to put a lot of work in to get the weapon. But you at least don’t have to fuss with luck any longer. Now you can put the time in and get your Tarrabah guaranteed.

Tarrabah can now be purchased in the Tower

Monument to Lost Lights

With Crown of Sorrows out of the game, our guide for how to get Tarrabah in Destiny 2 now involves the Monument to Lost Lights located in the Tower. This kiosk provides players access to Ritual and Exotic weapons that were introduced in the past, though you can only purchase these items if you have the appropriate materials and currencies. For Tarrabah, you need:

If you can scrounge all of that together, open the Monument to Lost Lights (located in between the Tower’s two Vault terminals) and head for the section titled “Forsaken Exotics.” Once you’re there, you’ll find Tarrabah in the second-to-last slot. If you have the materials and currencies listed above, you should be able to buy it.

And that’s how to get Tarrabah in Destiny 2

Tarrabah is definitely a situational weapon, but one that should be a lot of fun to use if you happen to stumble upon that perfect use case. Taking damage and dealing damage both load up the gun with energy. Once it’s full, long pressing your reload button expels that energy out.

Once you land your Tarrabah, try to take it into some other Raid encounters and battles to see where it might potentially fit into your arsenal. As mentioned, you may not be comfortable using it everywhere. But once you find that no-brainer moment for it, you’ll likely be very happy you put in the work to get it.
