One of the great things about the Xbox platform these past few years is Microsoft’s push to get more keyboard and mouse support in games. Yes, consoles like the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S are still going to be played using controllers by most people. But why not have that KB/M option for those who want it? Why not provide some choice?

One thing to keep in mind here is that keyboard and mouse support may not be as thorough as you’d find on the PC. It’s possible you may still need a controller paired to get past the intro screen on a title, for instance, or you may be required to get fully into the game before the KB/M inputs are detected.

As far as what kind of keyboard you can use, or what kind of mouse you can use, you should be fine with any USB device that can plug into a USB-A slot on your Xbox. If money is no object, though, it’s tough to look away from Razer’s $250 wireless keyboard and mouse bundle for Xbox. It’s basically designed so you have the benefits of KB/M while still being able to sit on the couch.
